|
Following exceptional growth in 2007 Axter Ltd wishes to expand its geographical coverage and seeks to recruit an energetic Area Sales Manager to look after a specific region. Training will take place both internally and externally in order to equip the incumbent to perform specific duties and to fulfil his/her potential. |

Axter is a successful European manufacturer of a range of construction materials, mainly intended for roofing and civil engineering projects, with a sales turnover in excess of £60 million. Axter has two production units and in the year 2007 produced nearly 30 million m2 of membranes and sold products into more than 60 countries worldwide. Axter s.a. is part of the Colas / Bouygues Group of companies and Axter Ltd is the UK subsidiary. Axter Ltd's main objective is to market and distribute parent company products within the UK and Eire. These products include:
In addition Axter markets a wide range of complementary products, i.e. not manufactured by the parent company, such as thermal insulation, fixings, trims, outlets, etc. Axter Ltd has two divisions; specification sales, where the products are mainly sold directly to the installer, and commercial sales, where products are sold to a merchant or distributor. The position on offer is within the specification sales division. |

| Candidate Profile | |
| General |
Ideally Axter is looking for intelligent personnel with a basic knowledge of the construction industry. This could have been through complete or partial formal training in professions such as architect, architectural technician, building or quantity surveyor, etc., or through practical experience working with a merchant, a contractor or material supplier. In essence, Axter is looking for someone with drive and initiative but who is also willing to learn. |
| Requirements |
The incumbent must: Have an understanding of the material supply market within the construction industry and be able to read and understand specifications, bills of quantities and site drawings. Be an excellent oral and written communicator with an extrovert personality. Be able to fire the imagination of his/her listeners so that they purchase/design with Axter in mind. Have drive and personality (able to be remembered by his/her customers). Have a clean current driving licence. Be able to work on his/her own initiative. In addition to the list above, all other things being equal, preference will be given to candidates who have a sound technical knowledge of the roofing and cladding industry. |
| Area |
There is currently one position on offer to cover West London and the M4 corridor. Working away from the candidate’s home is an occasional probability which could entail overnight hotel accommodation. |
| Economic conditions | |
|
Salary and commission structure is by negotiation with reviews taking place on an annual basis. The incumbent is normally eligible, subject to medical examination and the conditions imposed by insurers or other outside bodies, to the Company’s non-contributory superannuation and sickness benefit schemes. |
