Introduction

SAFETY from AXTER IN A CLEAR LIGHT

With more than forty years experience AXTER is the recognised European expert in the manufacture and supply of natural smoke evacuation and overhead rooflight day lighting systems.

In its commitment to satisfy the expectations of the building owner in terms of comfort, aesthetics and safety, AXTER has developed a range of units which meets the specific requirements of each individual building.

MULTI-FUNCTIONAL PRODUCTS

The user has the choice of a range of standard and non-standard units with various control options performing the three principal functions (day lighting, smoke evacuation and ventilation)

Safety - To increase safety on the roof all the units are supplied with a covering (glazing) which is impact resistant (e.g. fall arrest); opening units have an internal fall resistant grill.

Adaptability - Units can be supplied with an integral, 310 mm high, upstand or with an adapter plate to sit on an existing or new builder's kerb.

Aesthetics - AXTER can supply, upon request, kerbs in a choice of different colours with a pre- or post painted finish.

Comfort - Depending upon the type of glazing or covering used Axter units can reduce heat gain/loss or noise transmission. The use of special coatings can also reduce the effect of solar gain.

Control - There is a wide choice of mechanical, pneumatic and electro-magnetic control mechanisms, including ready-to-use kits, available for the smoke evacuation units.

MANUFACTURE

Production methods incorporate computer controlled equipment and assembly using crimping techniques similar to the automobile industry.

Manufacturing groups are managed on a 'just-in-time' production basis to ensure the minimum of delay.

The metal workshop manufactures the steel kerbs
The plastic / dome composite workshop manufactures translucent coverings.

PERSONAL SERVICE

The research and estimating departments design custom-made units where standard units do not meet client requirements.

Customer service monitors the progress of orders and provides advice necessary in the choice of unit and its use.
