Listed below is a general specification using a fully bonded aluminium foil finished membrane and then mastic asphalt as a top layer (Axter can provide, on request, written detailed specifications to suit any building).

Usage Products
Deck Concrete, laid to achieve a smooth deck finish at 0° pitch.
Primer Prime deck with Axter's VERNIS ANTAC (see brochure) quick drying primer and allow to dry.
Base layer Fully bond to the concrete deck Axter's BARYPRENE B3a PLUS modified bitumen membrane with overlapping side and end laps.
Mastic asphalt Lay Pommar mastic asphalt, to specified thickness (normally 10 or 15mm), laid in one pass in accordance with current practice.
Details Turn the BARYPRENE B3a PLUS up the upstand by at least 150mm. Install Axter's ARMALU aluminium finished membrane or ARMA CPV colour to choice by bonding it to the top of the asphalt for a min of 150 mm and up the height of the upstand.
Thermal insulation Loose lay STYRODUR XPS CFC-free extruded polystyrene, to a thickness to achieve required 'U'-value. Axter can advise upon request. Insulation should be set back from roof edges by at least 50mm and the gap filled with washed rounded gravel or covered with an AXTER EDGE GRATING.
Filter layer Loose lay Axter's FILTER LAYER on top of the insulation ensuring that it is wrapped up at the sides so that it forms a separating layer between the upstand and the protection.
Protection This can be concrete or wooden paving slabs on AXTER PAVING SLAB supports, washed rounded gravel, block paviers laid on a sand bed, etc..
