Listed below is a general specification using a combination of the specialist, patented membrane BARYPRENE 25 SI with paving grade mastic asphalt. (Axter can provide written detailed specifications to suit any building on demand).
| Usage | Products |
| Deck | Concrete, laid to achieve a smooth deck finish at 0° pitch. If falls are required then this can be achieved with a sand/cement screed. |
| Primer | Prime deck with Axter's VERNIS ANTAC (see brochure) quick drying primer and allow to dry. |
| Waterproofing | Loose lay Axter's BARYPRENE 25 SI SBS modified waterproofing membrane over the primed deck ensuring adequate side and end laps. At end laps the kraft paper needs to be removed from the under surface for a distance of 150 mm. At side laps ensure that the selvedge with the 10 mm holes is the under lap. |
| Protection | Install a layer of paving grade mastic asphalt, min 25 mm thick, over the BARYPRENE 25 SI. Thickness will depend upon the vehicular use of the system. Axter can give advice upon demand. |
| Details | Either:
Prior to the installation of the mastic asphalt, at the base of all upstands a reinforcement layer of Axter's HYRANGER 35 PY angle strip 250 mm girth should be installed centrally in the angle and bonded to both flat and vertical surface. A layer of Axter's ARMALU should then be fully bonded to the upstand and to the surface of the BARYPRENE 25 SI for a min 150 mm. Or: Install a strip of STICKFLEX Alu min 80 mm wide centrally in the angle to both the flat and vertical surface. Once the mastic asphalt is applied install HYRANGER 35 PY and ARMALU as detailed above. |
| Gutters | If gutters are to be formed by reducing the thickness of the mastic asphalt then the BARYPRENE needs to be fully bonded by removing the kraft paper from the under surface. Full bond should take place under the area of the gutter and for a min distance 250 mm either side. |
| Ramps | On ramps the BARYPRENE 25 SI should be replaced by BARYPRENE 40 A fully bonded to the primed concrete deck. |
Notes:
