Benefits of external wall insulation

External wall insulation improves the aesthetic appearance and at the same time increases the thermal efficiency of a building. It insulates the external walls to produce required U-values without any condensation risk. Furthermore the building fabric then acts as a heat store to provide more even heating as well as eliminating cold bridging and mould growth.

Although historically it has been used to upgrade the thermal performance of existing buildings, blocks of flats, offices, social housing, schools, etc. in more recent years it has become widespread for new build developments.

External wall insulation enables designers to provide novel energy efficient solutions in order to comply with the ever increasing standards required by Part L: Conservation of fuel and power of the Building Regulations as well as offering many other benefits such as extending the building's life, improved weather resistance and decoration.

External wall insulation is therefore the modern solution to cladding new and old buildings based on 4 major principles: -

Rain screen cladding
Composite panel

Advantages of the VETISOL systems

Axter offers either insulated composite panels which fasten directly to the wall without an air gap or more traditional rain screen type systems where there is an air gap between the insulation and the panel.

As well as the flexibility provided by their modular size and compatibility Vetisol systems manufactured on an industrial scale with constant quality offer practical and technical advantages such as: -

CLIN at Belvedere Infants School for the L.B. of Greenwich
MODULPIERRE at Arnham Drive, Croydon for the L.B. of Croydon

The Vetisol Range

The Vetisol systems comprise a range of natural facings offering weather resistance and longevity, thus ensuring protection of the building and comfort for the occupants for many years.

Vetisol CLIN

An aluminium cladding system with a 'stucco' appearance protected with a polyester lacquer combining aesthetic, waterproofing and insulation properties. A timber 'look-a-like' finish is also available.

Vetisol MODULISS

A smooth resin based cementitious surface treated to resist the build-up of dirt and other pollutants.

Vetisol MODULPIERRE

Similar to MODULISS but with a fine marble aggregate surface.

Vetisol MODULPIERRE FORCE
