Surface preparation - The WILOTEKT surface conditioning primer is brush applied to a dry concrete deck and allowed to dry.
Reinforced mesh - The WILOTEKT glass reinforcement mesh is rolled out over the deck and up all upstands with 10 cm overlaps.
Membrane - The WILOTEKT rubberised compound is then poured onto the mesh, coverage rate approx 3 kg/m2, and at the same time unrolling the polymer modified protection membrane into the hot liquid.
The membrane should be taken up all upstands for a distance of at least 15 cm. Heating should take place in a thermostatically controlled boiler and must not exceed 200°C. Ideal laying temperature is between 160° and 180°C. Although installation can take place at ambient temperatures < 0° C the risk of condensation and moisture forming on the surface of the deck is such that the recommended minimum ambient laying temperature is 5°C.
Upstands - Upstands should be coated with the WILOTEKT rubberised compound before being protected with a granular or aluminium foil finished membrane such as ARMA CPV or ARMALU. Waterproofing specifications for specific details are available from Axter.
Protection - The system is then protected as required with XPS insulation and heavy protection, reservoir or drainage boards and roof garden, concrete, hot or cold rolled macadam, etc. depending upon use.
